The Pakistan vs England ODI at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, 25 October, opens the Lahore leg of a three-nation series with general tickets at Rs300, less than a litre of petrol. The Pakistan Cricket Board has priced the stands for crowds and the boxes for revenue, while Sky Sports is showing every match live in the UK. For Lahore’s hospitality trade and for the PCB, the business story is a full home season with a major cricket nation in town and a large foreign television audience watching.
The short version
- Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka are playing a 50-over tri-series from 18 to 31 October, as preparation for the 2027 World Cup.
- The last four matches, including the final on 31 October, are in Lahore.
- Seats for Sunday’s match run from Rs300 to Rs20,000; a box costs about 67 times a general ticket.
- Sky Sports has agreed with the PCB to show all seven matches live in the UK.
What happened
The Rawalpindi leg ended on Thursday. Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 37 runs on 18 October and England by 87 runs on 20 October, so they go to Lahore with two wins from two. On 22 October Sri Lanka chased down 430 to beat England by two wickets, the second-highest successful chase in ODI history, despite Harry Brook’s 202 off 116 balls, the fastest double century in the format, Sky Sports reported. A record-breaking match is the kind of cricket that draws global attention to Pakistani venues.
All matches start at 1:30pm Pakistan time, 8am in the UK. Lahore-leg tickets are sold online through the PCB’s ticketing site and at TCS Express Centres. Prices for the Pakistan vs England ODI range from Rs300 in the general enclosure to Rs2,500 in the VIP Gallery and Rs20,000 for Far End box seats, Geo Super reported. Matches on 27 and 29 October are cheaper, from Rs200, and final tickets run from Rs400 to Rs22,000; our full guide to Pakistan tri-series tickets covers every enclosure in both cities.

Why it matters
The pricing shows the PCB’s model for the Pakistan vs England ODI: keep the stands cheap enough to fill, and earn more from a small number of premium seats. With average incomes rising only about 1.6% a year, a Rs300 seat keeps live cricket within reach of most fans. A full ground also looks better on television, and that matters when every match is broadcast live into the UK on a weekend morning.
The knock-on effects
First order: match-day spending in Lahore
Four matches in seven days bring visiting teams, officials, media and travelling fans to Lahore. Hotels, restaurants, food vendors and ride-hailing drivers near Gaddafi Stadium are the most likely to see extra trade. Fans’ travel costs depend on fuel, and petrol prices have eased this week even as diesel rises.
Second order: sponsors and broadcasters
Live UK coverage gives brands on perimeter boards and team kit an audience beyond Pakistan. Strong crowds and close matches, like Thursday’s 430 chase, make the series easier to sell to sponsors and broadcasters in future seasons.
Third order: Pakistan as a regular host
The tri-series is followed by two Tests against Sri Lanka, in Rawalpindi from 9 to 13 November and in Lahore from 17 to 21 November. A busy, smoothly run home calendar strengthens Pakistan’s case to host more top teams, which supports the PCB’s revenue base over time.
Who could benefit
- Lahore hotels and restaurants: four match days in a week.
- The PCB: gate money, box sales and a UK broadcast deal.
- TCS: handles online and over-the-counter ticket sales.
- Sponsors: exposure to Pakistani and UK audiences.
Who may face pressure
- Shops and commuters near the stadium: match-day traffic and any security arrangements can disrupt normal trade.
- Organisers: low-priced stands bring in little revenue per seat, so box sales and broadcast income carry more weight.
What to watch
- 25 October: Pakistan vs England, Lahore, 1:30pm.
- 27 and 29 October: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, then England vs Sri Lanka.
- 31 October: the final in Lahore, with tickets from Rs400 to Rs22,000.
- 9 to 21 November: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Tests in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
