Pakistan tri-series tickets for the one-day internationals against England and Sri Lanka are on sale, with seats from Rs200 and the most expensive box at Gaddafi Stadium’s 31 October final priced at Rs22,000. The seven-match series starts in Rawalpindi on Saturday 18 October. For hotels, transport firms, caterers and sponsors in Rawalpindi and Lahore, it opens a run of home cricket that lasts until the end of the Sri Lanka Tests on 21 November.
The short version
- The ODI tri-series runs from 18 to 31 October: three games in Rawalpindi, then four in Lahore including the final.
- General tickets in Lahore cost Rs200 to Rs400; box seats cost Rs10,000 to Rs22,000.
- The PCB has priced the Pakistan-England game in Lahore and the final at roughly double the other Lahore league games.
- Two Tests against Sri Lanka follow in November, keeping the home season going for about five weeks.
What happened
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has published prices for its home fixtures against Sri Lanka and England, ProPakistani and Geo Super reported. Pakistan play Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on 18 October and England there on 20 October, before Sri Lanka meet England on 22 October. The Lahore leg has Pakistan against England on 25 October, Pakistan against Sri Lanka on 27 October, Sri Lanka against England on 29 October and the final on 31 October, according to Geo Super.
Online sales for the Lahore leg opened on 13 October, and physical Pakistan tri-series tickets went on sale on 14 October at TCS Express Centres in both cities. In Lahore, a general ticket costs Rs300 for the England game, Rs200 for the other league games and Rs400 for the final. VIP Gallery seats cost Rs1,500 to Rs2,500. The series follows a three-match T20I series in Rawalpindi that Pakistan won 2-1, with Sri Lanka taking the last game by eight wickets on 13 October. For that final T20I the PCB cut prices, charging Rs200 to Rs800 against Rs300 to Rs1,000 for the first two games.

Why it matters
The pricing tells you where the PCB sees demand. General tickets stay cheap to fill stands, while the top boxes, the seats companies buy for clients and staff, carry the premium for the England fixture and the final. With entry from Rs200, ticket income per fan is small; the wider economic value of the series lies in what crowds and touring teams spend around the ground. A single season in two cities also concentrates that spending, which is one reason venue plans such as the proposed Islamabad cricket stadium draw so much interest.
The knock-on effects
First order: match-day trade
Food vendors, transport services and parking operators near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium get seven match days in two weeks. The courier network selling physical tickets also gets extra footfall at its counters.
Second order: hotels and corporate hospitality
England’s squad is due for the two weeks of the tri-series and Sri Lanka’s for about five weeks including the Tests, along with officials and broadcast crews who need rooms and travel in both cities. Companies buying boxes for the England game and the final use them for client entertainment, a small but visible test of corporate budgets.
Third order: Pakistan as a host
A smoothly run series with England and Sri Lanka supports Pakistan’s case for more home fixtures, which matters for broadcasters, sponsors and travel firms. Fans’ travel costs also depend on the petrol price, which now changes daily.
Who could benefit
- Hotels and caterers in Rawalpindi and Lahore, from teams, officials and visiting fans.
- Transport and ride-hailing services on match days.
- Sponsors and broadcasters, with an England fixture likely to draw a wider audience.
Who may face pressure
- Residents and shops near the stadiums, from road closures and traffic on match days.
- The PCB’s gate income, if crowds are thin for matches not involving Pakistan.
- Fans travelling between cities, who face high fuel and transport costs.
What to watch
- 18 October: Pakistan v Sri Lanka opens the series in Rawalpindi.
- 20 and 25 October: Pakistan v England in Rawalpindi and Lahore; in Lahore it is the highest-priced league fixture.
- 31 October: the final in Lahore.
- 9-21 November: Tests in Rawalpindi and Lahore, with ticket sale dates still to be announced.
